Temptation

How did you start your day? We started ours with worship and prayer. Then I made us yummy vegan blueberry cinnamon pancakes topped with fresh raspberries from the garden and lightly drizzled with agave nectar. Eating healthy and simple is important to keep the brain clear so that we can clearly discern the voice of the Holy Spirit. The very first sin in the human race had to do with food and appetite! “And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.
8 And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.” Genesis 3:2-8
I don’t want to ever feel ashamed and want to hide from God when He calls me.
How sad it is. But sometimes we as humans make such poor choices.
Also after Jesus had been baptized He went into the wilderness for 40 days seeking His Heavenly Father. He spent that time with no food. He prayed for God to strengthen Him for His ministry here on earth. When He was coming back the first temptation He faced was food. He was weak and hungry. Here is the temptation; ” 3 And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.
4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.” Matthew 4:3-4
Just some food for thought to be careful what you choose to eat! The devil knows what will cloud our minds. I don’t want mine clouded. I want to here the voice of the Holy Spirit. I want to be ready when Jesus comes. Have a blessed day in Jesus.
